Welcome to another installment of our Matrix How-To Series! This blog post will guide you through the process of setting the back seal pressure on your Matrix Morpheus or MVC Vertical Form Fill Seal Bagger. This procedure is crucial for ensuring consistent and reliable seals, which are essential for maintaining the quality of your packaging.
In this post, we will complement our instructional video featuring Jessie Swisher, a Matrix Service Technician, who demonstrates how to accurately set the back seal pressure.
Setting Back Seal Pressure
Ensuring the correct back seal pressure is vital for achieving strong and consistent seals on your bags. Improper pressure settings can lead to weak seals or damaged bags. Here’s how you can set the back seal pressure correctly:
Step-by-Step Guide
1. Locate the Back Seal Pressure Dial
- Identify the third dial on the other side of your bagger. This dial controls the vertical seal bar back seal pressure.
2. Access the Back Seal Settings
- Navigate to the back seal tab on your bagger’s control panel.
- Trigger the open/close button to operate the back seal bar. This action will push the seal bar forward.
3. Trigger the Back Seal Bar
- Press the button to open and close the back seal bar.
- Observe the movement of the seal bar as you press the button.
4. Check the Pressure
- With the back seal bar pushed forward, go to the other side of the machine to check the pressure reading.
- Ensure that the pressure is set correctly at 0.15. This is the optimal pressure setting for the back seal bar.
5. Verify the Pressure Setting
- Make any necessary adjustments to the dial to maintain the correct pressure.
- Confirm that the pressure stays consistent at 0.15 after adjustments.
Example Demonstration
- In the video, Jessie Swisher demonstrates triggering the open/close button for the back seal bar and checking the pressure.
- He ensures that the pressure reading is at 0.15, which is the correct setting for optimal performance.
By following these steps, you can ensure that the back seal pressure on your Morpheus MVC Vertical Form Fill Seal Bagger is set correctly. Proper pressure settings help maintain the integrity of your bag seals, preventing issues such as leaks or weak seals.
