Companies have returned to us for guidance and additional machinery to meet their production goals. Ossid’s medical packaging machinery is built to fit your specific needs. If you can imagine it, our team of engineers, with a combined 75 years of experience, will work to design it.
Chad Deaton, Ossid’s Horizontal Form Fill Seal/ Tray Sealing/ Flow Wrapping Product Line Manager, is our in-house medical packaging expert. He’s been with Ossid for almost 8 years, overseeing more than a dozen medical packaging projects. Before joining the Ossid team, Chad spent 18 years programming automated equipment for the medical and automotive industries as a Controls Engineer.
Fun fact about Chad? He starts every day off with a tall 4 shot latte! He brings this caffeine-induced energy with him each day as he meets with customers, manages project progress, and performs hands-on machine construction. Chad is always looking for new and innovative ways to do things better. We’re so thankful to have him on our team!

What are 3 often overlooked features customers have seen the most value in their thermoform medical packaging machinery?
Redundancy, visual validation (pressure/temperature/seal quality), and the scrap removal system.
What makes thermoform equipment ideal for medical device packaging?
Easy to change formats (simple die changes), easy to sanitize, and minimal air required (air is a big no no in clean room environments)
What is the cost of ownership associated with a thermoform medical packaging machine?
We train customers to maintain their own machines, cost of components used (private vs off the shelf), programming stop gates (Ossid’s medical packaging machinery includes open architecture programming), and technical maintenance support (Ossid guarantees support under 24 hours)
What changes in demand have you seen because of COVID-19?
Reduction in machine build time, requests for more defined forms/pockets (space for multiple components in one final package), printer integration, and registered films
